Newcastle top target has spoken on joining Premier League club this summer

‘€40 million is needed’ – Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest can tempt midfielder

Khephren Thuram could yet leave Juventus this summer, with Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest in the picture.

Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered how the midfielder could be holding out for Liverpool or Manchester United. He has rejected a move to Saudi Arabia, hoping clubs in England move for him.

Soon, interest from Sunderland also emerged. They asked for the financial feasibility for a deal, with Juve considering a sale if the right price is offered.

Talk around the Frenchman is now continuing to grow. It is Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest who are being handed a transfer chance.

Juve need the right priceTuttoSport report that Thuram has attract attention from ‘several clubs’. Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United have joined a list of suitors, which also includes Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool.

The newspaper notes that Galatasaray have also put forward a formal offer for the midfielder. But he rejected it outright, as he would only leave if a Premier League club steps forward for him.

At least ‘€40 million is needed’ for Juve to sell him and only that will tempt them into making a capital gain. This is a sign of hope for Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, and Thuram could be interested in those moves too.

He is more concerned with ambition than money, which is why he is ready to reject any approaches from Saudi Arabia.

Interest likely being pushedIncreasingly, it feels like those around the player are leaking information to the Italian press. TuttoSport are quite close to his agent Meissa Ndiaye and there is every chance intermediaries are at work in this case.

Since Juve failed to qualify for the Champions League, it could be an opportunity for the 25-year-old to find a new club.

Aston Villa, Sunderland & Newcastle dispatch officials to sign £17m star

Sunderland, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have all come bursting into the race to sign an in-demand South American, who will cost just £17m this summer.

It’s no real surprise that the Premier League clubs are involved in such a race. English football has fallen in love with South American stars in recent years, with the likes of Estevao, Moises Caicedo, Murillo and more all arriving before stealing several headlines for all the right reasons.

Sunderland’s inclusion is the most impressive. The Black Cats are ready to flex their European qualification in an attempt to get one over on arch rivals Newcastle, who are already enduring a nightmare summer.

Brian Brobbey for Sunderland

Better than Brobbey: Sunderland preparing concrete move to sign £30m starSunderland are reportedly eyeing up a deal for a striker who could be even better than Brian Brobbey.

The Magpies have already waved farewell to Anthony Gordon to Barcelona in a deal worth a hefty £69m, and could have no choice but to do similar with the unhappy Lewis Hall. Even with the likes of Victor Munoz likely arriving, Edde Howe’s side will be depleted.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, could be facing a similar big-name sale for different reasons. Despite qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Europa League, they’ve still got SCR problems which could result in the departure of Morgan Rogers.

Morgan-Rogers-VillaIt would, of course, be a major blow, but that sale would also allow Unai Emery to make some additions of his own – perhaps starting in central midfield.

Question 1 of 20 FOOTBALL FANCAST

Aston Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle race for £17m starAs reported by SportsBoom, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle are all racing to sign Marlon Gomes from Shakhtar Donetsk, who value their midfielder at just €20m (£17m).

All three clubs have dispatched their officials to complete in-person checks on the Brazilian and the ball could very much be in his court, as he decides his immediate future.

Whilst £17m is a hefty fee for some around Europe, it is a routine fee for Premier League sides to match and Gomes’ quality suggests that it could quickly become a bargain.

With scouts sent and Gomes’ price tag named, the race between three Premier League sides aiming to qualify for European football next season is well underway.
