Huge congratulations to all the players, team, staff and everyone connected to the club! 44 years since the last taste of European silverware!”
He then went on to praise Kamara in particular, adding: “Special shout out to Boubacar Kamara who has been out injured but is such an integral part of our team and helped lay the foundations of this success.”
It means the potential future king is set for an evening of celebration, along with the Aston Villa fans at home or in Turkiye for another trophy added to the cabinet.
Meanwhile, for Emery, it only enhances his reputation as the master of Europe’s second competition, while focus will turn to the Champions League with his side again next season.
Aston Villa’s triumph has sealed Emery as a legend in the club’s history, with a feat that the manager is still coming to terms with so soon after winning the trophy.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the Spanish boss said: “Fantastic. Europe it gave us a lot. For myself as well – a lot. I’m always very grateful for Europe. For every competition but especially the Europa League.”
As well the clubs I work at because they show the way, as well the support I had with Valencia, with Sevilla, with Villareal and here at Villa. The owners, the players.

“It’s very important how everybody, we got strongly this competition and we tried to get our best. We played it in a very serious way this year – so, so focused.
“And of course, the players they show their wishes. I was telling them in there, we need wishes, we need seriousness in this competition. To show on the field that you are the protagonist – and they did it!”
With the challenge of balancing the Premier League and the Champions League next season ,it remains to be seen just how well the manager can handle things.
However, regardless of what next season and the long-term future brings, Aston Villa will always have that night in Istanbul.
