Everton icon Duncan Ferguson has never been one to hide his feelings, and his latest assessment of Beto’s performance against Arsenal is his most scathing yet. Following a lackluster display in the 2-0 defeat, “Big Dunc” singled out the striker, branding his performance “woeful” and claiming he is simply not at the level required for the Premier League.
A “Deplorable” Display
Ferguson, a man who built his reputation on blood-and-thunder commitment, was visibly incensed by Beto’s inability to hold the ball or provide any physical presence against the Arsenal backline. Despite being given the chance to lead the line, Beto appeared isolated and struggled to complete even basic passes before his second-half substitution.
”It was a performance devoid of any real fight,” Ferguson remarked. “You come to this club and you earn the right to wear that shirt. Right now, he isn’t fit to be in the squad.”
