Rangers: Danny Rohl Must Axe Andreas Skov Olsen After Celtic

Rangers suffered a disappointing defeat against their Glasgow rivals Celtic on Sunday, and one player was particularly disappointing. It’s time for Danny Rohl to stop giving him so many opportunities.

Rangers drew with Celtic in normal time, but they were defeated on penalties at Ibrox. Rohl’s men struggled to break Celtic down, and despite enjoying more of the possession, they failed to make it count.

The result will allow Rangers to focus on the Scottish Premiership, where they currently sit one point behind Celtic and six points behind league leaders Hearts.

Rangers travel to St Mirren next weekend in the league, before hosting Aberdeen in their final game of March.

Rohl Must Axe 4/10 Rangers Star

Andreas Skov Olsen

Andreas Skov Olsen has been given regular opportunities by Rohl in recent weeks, but he’s struggled to live up to expectations.

The Danish winger has started four games in a row for Rangers, but it’s time for Rohl to take him out of the side.

His performance against Celtic on Sunday was another disappointing one, with The Scotsman giving him a 4/10 rating, suggesting that he’s yet to live up to the hype surrounding him since they brought him to the club.

Skov Olsen has been substituted in all four of his recent starts, and he’s failed to score in each of those games. There’s no doubt the 26-year-old will need time to settle in, but if Rangers want to make a late push for the title, Rohl might not be able to remain patient with the winger. Rohl Has Options to Change Things

Djeiti Gassama Rangers

Djeidi Gassama is one player who is struggling to get into the side due to Rohl persisting with Skov Olsen. The 23-year-old has been inconsistent himself this season, but with Skov Olsen finding it difficult to adapt, Gassama is an option for Rohl to change things.

Rohl might be thinking that he needs to play Skov Olsen into form after they signed him in the January transfer window, but he’s struggling to make the impact expected of him.

There’s little excuse for Rohl to continue starting Skov Olsen with Gassama an option to replace him, and it’s a change he needs to make as soon as possible.
