Leeds United have been given three transfer green lights for £73million spending spree

Daniel Farke has received promising updates on the transfer front as Leeds United look to kick their summer transfer window into overdrive

Leeds United are yet to spend a penny this summer as Daniel Farke looks to build on a 14th-place Premier League finish. However, there are several deals to be had by the Whites after receiving encouragement from certain prospects.

Harry Wilson remains the only new arrival at Elland Road after agreeing to join Leeds on a free transfer. The Wales international will provide welcome depth in the wing and No. 10 positions but there remain gaps in the side that need to be filled.

Following the departure of Pascal Struijk to Brighton, central defence in particular could do with some reinforcement. And Leeds Live has taken a look at which £73million trio could be completed in the very near future.

Shea Charles

Despite that need for new energy in defence, Leeds would by no means turn down a little extra help in midfield or attack, either. And the pursuit of Southampton’s Shea Charles is one that could bear fruit very soon.

Leeds have been engaged in talks with the Saints but are yet to come to an agreement over the price. Latest reports have suggested Southampton want £30m for their player, while Leeds’ offer currently sits closer to the £23m mark.

Most encouraging of all, however, are the suggestions that Charles most favours a move to Elland Road. Aston Villa, Fulham and Crystal Palace have also been linked with his signature, hinting there’s no shortage of Premier League attention.

Former Manchester City prospect Charles, 22, was unfortunate to be part of a Southampton side that missed out on Premier League promotion after the Spygate scandal. However, all signs suggest he has a favourable route back to England’s top flight with Leeds if they can come to an agreement with the Saints over a price.

Tarik Muharemovic

Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic wouldn’t come cheap given his reported asking price sits at £34m. In fact, that would be just short of Leeds’ record £35.5m investment to recruit Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim in 2022.

But after starring for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup this summer, the outlay looks like a reliable one. What’s more, talks between Leeds and Sassuolo are reported to have progressed well, indicating the left-sided centre-back is open to the switch.

Inter Milan were being touted as a potential destination for Muharemovic earlier this summer. And although the Serie A champions have backed away from a deal, it’s an indicator as to just how much the player has impressed in Italy to date.

Now the 23-year-old’s World Cup commitments are well over, Leeds can look to accelerate the transfer.

Nico Elvedi

Another option whose situation has been simplified following the conclusion of his World Cup campaign is Nico Elvedi. The Borussia Monchengladbach star was part of the Switzerland team that suffered defeat to Argentina in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Theoretically, Elvedi could arrive in addition to Muharemovic given the two share very different profiles. Elvedi is a right-footed option and 29 years old who now has less than a year remaining on his contract in Germany.

That’s a major factor in why he’s available for as little as £9m, according to the Daily Mail. It’s also been reported Elvedi, who has been linked with Farke’s side since early 2025, is open to joining Leeds , who are alleged to have already had one bid for his services rejected.
