Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari documentary ‘The Marriage of the Century’ releases amid his debut race at the Australian Grand Prix

As if the anticipation of seeing Lewis Hamilton race for Ferrari for the first time wasn’t enough, a documentary about the F1 star’s big switch was released at the same time. The French documentary shows Hamilton’s collaboration with Ferrari and is titled Le Mariage Du Siècle (The Marriage of the Century). It was released alongside the new F1 season, which kicked off with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne this weekend.

Lewis Hamilton’s joining at Ferrari turned into a documentary

The documentary was released on the French channel Canal+ and shows Hamilton’s traditional welcome at Maranello, how he met the workers at the Ferrari factory upon joining the team, and more. Like former Ferrari champions, Hamilton is also seen visiting Enzo Ferrari’s residence. It also shows Lello Apicella talking about his preparation to host the F1 driver at his famous restaurant, Ristorante Montana, for which he prepared a custom-made menu.
Lewis says in the documentary, as reported by GPFans.com, “I’m really looking forward to connecting with that community and being on the journey with them.” He is also seen taking a Ferrari for a drive as part of a photo shoot.

On Sunday, Hamilton shared his first post after the Australian Grand Prix, summing up his experience in Melbourne and his plans for the year ahead. Sharing a few pictures in Ferrari gear from the track, Hamilton wrote, “A real rollercoaster. Definitely not what we had hoped for, but I’m grateful to get my first race done. Now we build onwards and upwards. We have a lot of work to do, and we’ll keep pushing to make improvements and bring better results. There’s a lot of potential in the car, now we do the work to unlock it. Grazie, on to the next.”
Hamilton made headlines when he bid farewell to Mercedes after spending 12 years with the team and carving out a successful career, including eight constructors’ titles and six drivers’ championships out of seven. 2024 was a tough year for the 40-year-old, as he nearly reached a saturation point at Mercedes and made his switch official in February of last year.

Ferrari also has much to look forward to this season, with all hopes resting on Hamilton and their other driver, Charles Leclerc, to end their 16-year-long drought of a constructors’ championship.
