Lee Hendrie Criticises Lampard’s Tactics After Coventry Draw 1–1 With Preston
Coventry City’s 1–1 draw with Preston North End has sparked strong commentary from former Aston Villa midfielder and football analyst Lee Hendrie, who openly questioned Frank Lampard’s tactical approach after the match.

Speaking after the Championship fixture, Hendrie said he was surprised by Lampard’s post-match comments about struggling to break down Preston, despite the visitors playing a long spell of the match with 10 men.

“I see no reason why he is complaining about finding it hard against 10 men,” Hendrie said.
Hendrie argued that Coventry had every opportunity to secure all three points, insisting that the performance fell short of what the fans expected.

“Lampard is poor in tactical football. Coventry should have won the game but it ended 1–1 vs Preston,” he continued.
“I still don’t know how their next game will be if this continues. It was a silly approach from the coach.”
The draw leaves pressure building on Lampard, who has been trying to stabilise Coventry’s form.
