Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are among the Premier League clubs tracking Karl Etta Eyong, the 22-year-old Levante striker attracting considerable attention ahead of the summer transfer window. According to Tuesday\u2019s edition of Mundo Deportivo, reported by Sport Witness<\/a>, David Moyes\u2019 side have maintained interest in the Cameroonian for several months, while Spurs have now formally joined the pursuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eyong had a bright opening to the season, scoring six goals in his first ten matches before finishing with seven goals and four assists in 34 appearances. Barcelona remain his preferred destination, and he is holding out for a move to the Catalan club as his first choice, though Tottenham, Everton and VfB Stuttgart are all circling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etta Eyong is one of the names Everton<\/a> are considering ahead of the summer window, with links emerging earlier in the season. Levante had previously attempted to send him to CSKA Moscow in the winter, but the player refused to relocate to Russia. Reports from Spanish outlet SER Deportivos Valen suggest Levante face a tricky financial fair play situation and are forced to make a major sale, which could hand Everton significant hold in any negotiations. Etta Eyong is a complete forward capable of stretching defences, linking with teammates and pressing from the front, with a \u20ac30 million release clause in his contract, though Levante\u2019s asking price sits at around \u20ac25 million excluding bonuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can Tottenham really pip Everton to the deal?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Robert De Zerbi<\/a> believes Etta Eyong can fit into Spurs\u2019 system immediately, and the North London club are reportedly ready to trigger his release clause once their sporting director sanctions the move. Barcelona\u2019s involvement, meanwhile, remains uncertain. Etta Eyong will not make a final decision until he knows whether Barcelona genuinely want to sign him as a second-choice striker following Robert Lewandowski\u2019s exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, yes, but not unconditionally. Everton are determined to bring in a new striker this summer after Thierno Barry\u2019s inconsistent form, and the Friedkin Group are ready to back Moyes in the market. Eyong\u2019s profile, a mobile, pressing forward with double figures in goal contributions, would provide Moyes what he likes. The problem is straightforward, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A player fixated on Barcelona rarely gives his best elsewhere when that dream stays alive, and Everton cannot afford a reluctant signing who spends his first six months distracted by a move that never came. At \u20ac25 million, the fee is fair. The bigger risk is the player\u2019s head. If Barcelona formally walk away before the window opens, Everton should move quickly. If that clarity never arrives, Moyes has other credible striker options on the radar, including Liam Delap, a forward he has long admired. Eyong is worth pursuing, but only on Everton\u2019s terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
