Nottingham Forest have announced the departure of head of football development Craig Mulholland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mulholland has left the club after three years to take up the post of chief football officer at the Scottish FA. His exit comes at the start of an important summer for the Reds as they look to avoid being in a relegation battle again<\/a> next term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A statement from Forest <\/a>said: \u201cNottingham Forest can confirm Craig Mulholland has left the club to take up the role of chief football officer at the Scottish FA. Mulholland joined Forest in 2023 as head of football development and talent management, playing a key role in the club\u2019s football strategy across the academy, women\u2019s and men\u2019s first teams. Everyone at Nottingham Forest thanks Craig for his contribution to Nottingham Forest, wishing him the best for his next step.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n JOIN US ON FACEBOOK!Get all the Nottingham Forest latest via our Facebook page<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mulholland\u2019s role at the Nigel Doughty Academy<\/a> involved overseeing loans, emerging talent development and recruitment, first-team player transition, player pathways, the B team and men\u2019s academy. His new job involves a return to familiar territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mulholland has worked for the SFA previously. Earlier in his career, he held the roles of assistant football development officer, football development officer and senior youth development officer at the national body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He went on to join Scottish giants Rangers in 2003 and stayed for two decades before taking up post at Forest. At Ibrox, he held various positions, including academy operations manager and academy director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a statement on the SFA website, Mulholland said: \u201cI am delighted to be joining the Scottish FA at a critical time for the game in our country, which I care passionately about. He was the outstanding candidate from a thorough process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is a critical role within the Scottish FA – and Scottish football in general – so we wanted to make sure that we took our time to find the right individual who can help drive improvements across the board. Craig comes highly recommended to us from his position as head of football development and talent management at Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League, but we\u2019re equally enthused by his varied experiences in Scottish football.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mulholland is unlikely to be the only departure from the City Ground<\/a> this summer.
