Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck deep into stoppage time to hand Leeds United a dramatic 1-0 win over Brighton at Elland Road earlier today.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their final home match of the season, Leeds gave the supporters a perfect ending, with Calvert-Lewin\u2019s late winner sending the crowd home delighted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karl Darlow was also crucial to the victory after pulling off a sensational first-half save that even Peter Schmeichel could hardly believe<\/a>. There was concern in the second half, however, when Anton Stach was forced off on a stretcher<\/a> after suffering a leg injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calvert-Lewin\u2019s 14th Premier League goal of the campaign eventually lifted the mood once again, and Roy Keane has lavished praise on the striker and the work Leeds did to sign him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calvert-Lewin latched on to a horrible back pass from a Brighton defender and made the most of it by scoring the winner for Leeds in injury time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keane has conceded that it was terrible defending, and the goalkeeper also didn\u2019t do himself any favour by coming out too quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he praised the Leeds striker for doing what a forward must do and converting that chance. He insisted that the former Everton man has been a brilliant signing for Leeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah, listen, it is poor defending and decision-making, and I\u2019m not sure what the goalkeeper is doing either\u201d, Calvert-Lewin said on Sky Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCredit to Leeds, they stuck at it, they have good spirit, and they never gave up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was their first shot on target, but look, Calvert-Lewin does what all good strikers do and chases a lost cause, and he gets his reward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLook, I think Brighton will be kicking themselves. It\u2019s a moment that I think will cost Brighton dearly, but huge credit to Leeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat a signing he has been, Calvert-Lewin on a free. A brilliant signing who could not have done any more for Leeds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leeds eyeing new heights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The win at Elland Road moved Leeds up to 13th in the table with one game still left to play, although they could yet finish even higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Ham are likely to be battling for survival on the final day of the season, meaning Leeds could potentially send the Hammers down in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A victory for the Whites could also see them climb as high as 11th if other results fall in their favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very few people would have expected Leeds to be pushing for a finish just outside the top half after winning promotion back to the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
