A 5-2 aggregate victory sealed a place in Leipzig, after an own goal and a second-half strike from Isma\u00efla Sarr had Palace on their way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Manager has now led the Eagles to a major Final in both of his full seasons in charge, a remarkable achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Huge congratulations and credit to the players,” Glasner said in his post-match press conference. “I think everybody could see how good we were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But the commitment, the effort and the discipline was exceptional. We always believed that if we created chances we would score goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The second goal was great evidence we deserved this. I think I complained to the fourth official that the referee should blow for a foul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Pino was fouled, Daichi Kamada was fouled and Tyrick Mitchell was fouled but we kept playing, and we got the reward with the ball going in off Isma\u00efla Sarr’s toenail and scoring a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was a huge performance and a huge European night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I said before the game that regardless of the result. They had showed real togetherness in the games so far and we showed them clips of this, from the first leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This makes me proud. If we have this spirit, this commitment and how we supported each other. It’s football, you can make mistakes but it’s about being there for each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are together with our fans and this makes me proud, and proud to be part of this journey.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite his pride at a monumental night at Selhurst Park, Glasner won’t be resting on any laurels and is determined to bring more silverware back to South London later this month, when Palace meet Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have three weeks to prepare and analyse Rayo Vallecano, a very good team,” he added. “It [the final] will be fantastic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You always want your last game to be for something, for silverware. I promise that we will give everything we have to bring it back to Selhurst Park.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
