After 37 goals for club and country last season, Everton have been backed to make a move for Troy Parrott with the message that the prolific marksman is \u201cnot a flash in the pan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker who was farmed out to Millwall, Ipswich Town, Milton Keynes Dons and Preston North End before trying his luck in the Netherlands, has struck 68 times in 127 matches since moving to the Dutch Eredivisie, initially on loan at Excelsior before making a permanent switch to Alkmaar in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last season he plundered 31 goals in 48 games for AZ while adding a further half dozen on international duty for the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kevin Kilbane, who made 121 appearances for Everton, scoring five goals, after being snapped up by David Moyes in 2003, reckons his former boss should make a move for the 24-year-old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked by Betway Insider whether he\u2019d tell the Glaswegian gaffer to sign Parrott, Kilbane said: \u201cI doubt he\u2019s going to take my advice these days! But look, as I\u2019ve said to you before, this is not a flash in the pan.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It wasn\u2019t just two games where he scored five goals and the first-ever Irish hat-trick away from home. If you look at him consistently over the last couple of years at Alkmaar, he\u2019s scored big goals in European competition, and he\u2019s scored consistently in the Dutch league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
