From Ordinary Night to Lasting Pain: Bournemouth Man Seriously Injured in Poole Crash

A man from Bournemouth has been left with life-changing injuries following a serious two-vehicle collision in Poole late on Monday night.
Dorset Police confirmed that two motorists have been arrested after the crash, which occurred at around 11:22pm on December 15 on Canford Heath Road, near the junction with Plantation Road. The collision involved a black Ford Ranger and a silver Volkswagen Golf.


Emergency services were swiftly deployed to the scene, with road closures put in place as police, paramedics and fire crews responded to the incident.
A passenger in the Volkswagen Golf, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital suffering from injuries initially believed to be life-threatening and now described as life-changing. Police confirmed that his next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the Golf, a man in his 30s, was also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not believed to be serious. He has since been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.


The driver of the Ford Ranger, a man in his 40s from Poole, was likewise arrested on suspicion of driving offences and remains in police custody.
Road closures remained in place into the morning of Tuesday, December 16, as officers carried out enquiries, including a detailed forensic examination of the collision scene. Police warned that disruption was likely to continue during the morning rush hour.
Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said:
“We are continuing to investigate this incident to establish the full circumstances of the collision. I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, as well as any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please make contact with us.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and for a thorough examination of the collision scene to be conducted.”


Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the area at the time of the crash to come forward.
