After leading the University of Kentucky to an NCAA title in his lone collegiate season and winning Final Four Most Outstanding Player, National Player of the Year, and SEC Player of the Year, Davis was selected by the New Orleans Hornets as the number one overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. Before ever participating in an NBA game, Davis was chosen to represent Team USA in 2012. Alongside LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant, Davis was a member of the team that went undefeated and won the gold medal in the London Olympics.
