CHELSEA COULD HAVE ‘NO OPTION’ BUT TO ACCEPT DERBY COUNTY MOVE FOR MUDRYK AMID FFP WORRIES
Chelsea have been warned they may have little choice but to consider a transfer offer from Derby County for Mykhaylo Mudryk as Financial Fair Play (FFP) pressures continue to intensify at Stamford Bridge.

Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 in a high-profile deal that could reach £87 million, one of the standout signings during Todd Boehly’s ambitious early transfer windows as owner. However, with Chelsea now facing the need to carefully manage their finances, even big-money signings are no longer untouchable.

FFP regulations are expected to force Chelsea into player sales, and Mudryk has emerged as a potential departure should an acceptable bid arrive. Derby County are understood to be monitoring the situation closely and are considering making an approach, despite the scale of the move.

The Rams reportedly hold strong belief in Mudryk’s ability and see him as a high-quality attacking midfielder who could add pace, creativity, and unpredictability to their side. Even while the player is currently serving a suspension, Derby are said to remain confident in his long-term value and suitability for their project.

While Chelsea would be reluctant to accept a fee far below their original investment, the club’s FFP situation could leave them with limited alternatives. Accepting a Derby County offer may help ease financial pressure and provide flexibility ahead of future transfer windows.
Mudryk’s future remains uncertain, but Derby County’s interest highlights how Chelsea’s financial realities could lead to an unexpected and dramatic transfer outcome.
