CHELSEA COULD HAVE ‘NO OPTION’ BUT TO ACCEPT BRIGHTON MOVE FOR MUDRYK AMID FFP WORRIES
Chelsea have been warned they may be left with little choice but to accept a transfer offer from Brighton & Hove Albion for Mykhaylo Mudryk as Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns continue to weigh heavily on the club.
Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 in a high-profile deal that could rise to £87 million, one of the standout signings during Todd Boehly’s aggressive early transfer windows as owner. However, with Chelsea now under pressure to balance their finances, offloading high-value assets has become an increasingly realistic scenario.

Brighton are understood to be closely monitoring Mudryk’s situation and believe the Ukrainian could flourish as an attacking midfielder within their system. The Seagulls reportedly admire his technical ability, versatility, and pace, qualities they feel could be refined and maximised under their progressive footballing structure.

It is also believed that Brighton’s sporting director has maintained regular communication with Mudryk, even during his suspension, a move seen as a clear show of care and long-term interest from the south coast club. Sources suggest Mudryk has taken note of that support and is open to the idea of joining Brighton, impressed by their player-focused approach and development model.

For Chelsea, the decision may come down to financial necessity rather than footballing preference. With FFP regulations tightening, accepting a Brighton offer could help ease financial pressure and provide room for future squad planning.
As uncertainty grows around Mudryk’s future at Stamford Bridge, Brighton’s sustained interest could place them in a strong position should Chelsea be forced into a sale
