Breaking news: Israel ramps up West Bank assault after bus blasts near tel aviv

Following the recent bus explosions near Tel Aviv, Israel has intensified its military operations in the West Bank. On February 20, 2025, three empty buses in Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, were targeted in a suspected terrorist attack, with no casualties reported.

 

In response, Israel launched “Operation Iron Wall” in the West Bank, deploying tanks to the Jenin refugee camp for the first time since 2005.  This operation has led to significant displacement, with over 40,000 Palestinians fleeing their homes in Jenin and Tulkarm.

The United Nations has expressed grave concern over the humanitarian impact of these actions, highlighting the extensive destruction and displacement in the region.

 

The World Health Organization has also raised alarms about the rising attacks on healthcare facilities in the West Bank, which are severely affecting medical services.

These developments underscore the escalating tensions and the complex humanitarian situation in the region.
