Polish EU Presidency and MEPs: No peace without backing of the Ukrainian people.
Poland, currently holding the rotating presidency of the European Union, has emphasized that any peace agreement concerning Ukraine must involve the full participation of Ukraine’s government and the support of its people. This stance was underscored by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who stated that “no peace in Ukraine can be negotiated without the full participation of Ukraine’s government and the backing of its people.”
In addition to this, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski highlighted the importance of a sovereign Ukraine for Europe’s security, stating that “Europe will not be safe without a sovereign Ukraine.”
These statements reflect Poland’s commitment to ensuring that any resolution to the conflict respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and involves its active participation in the peace process.
