Granit Xhaka sustained a cut to his eye in added time in his very first Wear-Tyne derby at the weekend. Incredibly, he dreamt before the game that this would happen. He told me in an interview for the Premier League:

🗣️”It’s the first time in my career I’ve ever had a cut. But before the game, I dreamt I’d be cut and would bleed in this derby. I don’t know why!! I told my wife that this will be remembered always – this cut – first derby for me for this football club and a special win.

“It’s a win that ranks very high in my career – after the game, seeing people happy and crying, I just had a feeling of, ‘wow, we did it!’ After so many years of the fans struggling, this is a feeling you can’t describe in words. I’m so happy to be a part of this club and this moment.”
What a way to remember your first Wear-Tyne derby, and something that will be with @granitxhaka forever 🐈⬛⚪️🔴
