Mudryk to Ipswich January deal in progress

CHELSEA COULD HAVE ‘NO OPTION’ BUT TO ACCEPT IPSWICH TOWN MOVE FOR MUDRYK AMID FFP WORRIES
Chelsea have been warned they may have little choice but to accept a transfer offer from Ipswich Town for Mykhaylo Mudryk as Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns continue to cast a shadow over the club’s transfer plans.

Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 in a high-profile deal that could rise to £87 million, one of several major signings made during Todd Boehly’s ambitious early transfer windows as owner. While the winger arrived with huge expectations, Chelsea’s current financial situation could force the club into difficult decisions.
With FFP regulations tightening, Chelsea are expected to consider player sales to balance the books, and Mudryk has emerged as a potential candidate if a suitable bid is received. Ipswich Town are understood to be closely monitoring his situation and are considering a formal approach.

Ipswich reportedly believe Mudryk could thrive as an attacking midfielder within their system, valuing his pace, creativity, and ability to carry the ball at speed. The club’s recruitment staff are said to admire his technical qualities and feel he could make a significant impact if given a central attacking role.
Although Chelsea would be reluctant to sanction a deal that falls far short of their original investment, FFP pressures may leave them with limited alternatives. As a result, an offer from Ipswich Town could be taken seriously if it helps ease financial strain.
Mudryk’s future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain, but Ipswich Town’s growing interest underlines how Chelsea’s FFP situation could shape a surprising transfer outcome.
