2024 Great Race to start at 11:30am AEDTFriday Qualifying to commen
The start time for the 2024 Repco Bathurst 1000 has been confirmed, with the Great Race to begin at 11:30am AEDT.
This year’s Bathurst classic, Race 20 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, has been pushed back relative to last year’s race, which started at 11:15am. Click here to view the full track schedule.
The Repco Bathurst 1000 does not have a time certain cut-off, meaning it can run into the evening. Daylight Savings in New South Wales will commence the weekend before the race.
Sunset is at 7:13pm local time, with last light at 7:38pm.
The Great Race commenced at 10:00am local time between 1979 and 2006, before it was moved to 10:30am in 2007. The race began at 11:15am in 2016, 2017 and 2018, with the 2019 edition starting at 11:30am.
The 2021 race, held in December for the first and only time, remains the latest ever Great Race start at 12:15pm local time.
The 2020 race, held in late October amid the COVID-19 pandemic, was also scheduled to start at 11:30am local time, but was brought forward amid the threat of inclement weather.
Celebrations will officially kick celebrations off on Wednesday October 9 with a street party from 5:00pm in Bathurst’s CBD, before four days of blockbuster action at the Mountain. Tickets for the 2024 Repco Bathurst 1000 are on sale now.
