IPSWICH TOWN FANS TURN FURIOUS AFTER 3–1 LEICESTER DEFEAT AS McKENNA CALLS IT “OUR WORST GAME OF THE SEASON”
Ipswich Town’s struggles deepened on Saturday evening as they slipped to a damaging 3–1 defeat against Leicester City, a result that sparked anger and frustration among the Town faithful.
The loss, which unfolded in a largely one-sided contest, saw Ipswich punished for defensive lapses and a lack of intensity, with Leicester capitalising clinically to claim all three points. While the scoreline itself was disappointing, it was an individual performance that truly ignited outrage among supporters.
Fans inside the stadium and across social media were united in their criticism of one Ipswich player, branding him “the worst in the whole squad” after what many described as a disastrous display. Calls for the player to be moved on “as soon as possible” grew louder as mistakes mounted and momentum swung firmly in Leicester’s favour.
After the match, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna did little to soften the assessment of the evening, delivering a brutally honest verdict in his post-match press conference.
“This is the worst game of the season for us,” McKenna admitted. “We were nowhere near the levels we expect, individually or collectively. We didn’t compete well enough, and at this level you get punished.”
Ipswich briefly threatened a response after pulling a goal back, but Leicester quickly regained control, exposing Town’s defensive frailties and closing the game out with authority.
